Open Compute / Open source / Alpha

Compute belongs to its contributors

Your devices. Your consent. A shared goal.

Connect willing contributors across phones, desktops and existing HPC clusters through bounded tasks, durable leases and open interfaces. Keep control of when your device works, what it runs, and when it stops.

This is the documentation site, not a live compute coordinator. Device enrollment happens on your community's separately hosted service.

Start with the device you have

Browser & phone

Join deliberately. Run bounded CPU tasks in a foreground browser, with a visible stop button. WebGPU inference is an optional, hardware-dependent path.

Browser onboarding →

Desktop & inference

Connect Windows, macOS or Linux workers. Keep your vLLM, SGLang or compatible inference endpoint instead of replacing your serving stack.

Connect a worker →

Existing Slurm cluster

Dispatch reviewed training profiles into a Linux Slurm installation. The adapter does not turn phones into native Slurm nodes or pool device memory.

Slurm integration →

Compute Proletariat is the project's guiding idea: people should be able to contribute their own devices toward shared goals and share in the value they create. Collective governance and revenue sharing are aspirations, not features or financial promises of this alpha.

What is ready—and what is not

The implementation includes a SQLite broker, capability-matched leases, disconnect recovery, consent-based workers and optional adapters. It remains an experimental, single-tenant foundation, not a certified enterprise service. Read the verification boundaries before using real workloads and the security model before exposing a coordinator.

Contributor guarantees in this implementation

No automatic enrollment. No executable job downloads. A visible stop control. Browser work pauses when hidden, stops at a one-minute task budget and checks low battery where the browser exposes it. The coordinator receives job results, not access to your filesystem. A malicious coordinator or compromised dependency is still a risk: see security.

Proof credit is a non-monetary acknowledgment of a verified solution. It does not prove elapsed work, identify unique humans, establish fairness or entitle anyone to financial rewards. Inference and training outputs are not independently validated by the broker.
